I wish you would have asked more about it before ordering. I can assure you I paid more than 9.00 for it .I try very hard to give the best description possible but sometimes questions still need to be asked if you are hesitant to buy. Again, I apologize.

blairwitchposh Good morning, thank you for the kind review. Try putting in a new battery. One has a brand new battery. The other may need to be replaced. Make sure the switch is on under the cap. Place them somewhere they will get sunlight during the day (they need sunlight during the day in order to glow at night). As far as the sand and shells that is how they came. You can definitely add more to them. I hope this helps. This should solve the problem. Thank you again.
