Hi! I'm Stephanie. I follow fashion in general but overall I love beautifully-made clothes and whimsy! and have now emptied my archives from the ‘80s. I am a retired journalist and avid gardener. earth3003 @slambidakis Oh that's so sweet, thank you so much. Truth be told, it's a lot of taking photos and then picking the ones that work (many don't!). I definitely find that natural light helps. The good news is I have fun with it so the hours I've spent on it, well I don't mind spending those hours. So far I've learned that a bed with a white cover, natural light (or otherwise good lighting), and a ladder help a lot! :)

sbfashions @slambidakis oh that's awesome… My grandmother had impeccable taste in fashion and she's actually Armenian but my father's father was Greek as well so I'm about a quarter well my DNA test message different percentage but you know what I mean half of my dad's side was great. I never got to meet them because he died when he was 65 which my dad is now and that's a bit scary but my dad's in really good health.

rlynmass There's tons of share groups even category ones like for jewelry. People tag their names on a list & per the rules of such particular share group you share the top 3, or 5 items etc in each closet. It's supposed to help broaden your exposure. So if there is someone w/ 150k followers it hits their feed & so the hope is you garner more likes, offers, sales.

wiredrose @rlynmass I also miss Filene's. We had really good ones and I bought so many lovely Prada things. And a $2k Ralph Lauren ankle-length cashmere coat that is 17 years old going strong. But they went in & out of bankruptcy so many times that the stock dried up. Sometimes I wondered if things fell of the back of trucks, their prices were so low.

rlynmass Ahh yes Filene's! 😢 In New Haven we had May Coat Co., housed in a warehouse (not in the best area) but imagine the Back Room of Loehmann's combined with unique boutique brands & some edgy NY labels with a shoe dept to die for & costume jewelry to this day I can't find the same quality! Of course, too, the place to go for your leather & cashmere coats! All those special places even the small boutiques all gone!! I had much better clothes when I was younger! You have incredible style!!✨

wiredrose @rlynmass We're all the same people especially when it comes to food! More is better and moussaka is one of my favorites. My grandmother was a great cook. My mom was a Swede, ice to go with a fiery Greek father. My grandmother was a tailor and that's why I love clothes so much. I realized what I like most is the hunt. Someone should hire me to go find things. I'm not so good with the rest of it.

I'm a slow and late learner and haven't branched out yet. I also changed from my real name Lambidakis and used my garden fence since that's my other passion. I finally solved the deer problem with 8 foot high livestock fence. Not industrial chic but it works!

palmerh72 To finish... And your note - I have to say it brought tears to my eyes. I don't think I mentioned this, but I'm battling cancer. Actually, Colon Cancer. Rare for my age - 45 but becoming not so rare for young-ish women. I was diagnosed in 2015 and have had three operations and 27 rounds of chemo so far. It keeps me alive. So your note meant a lot. wiredrose @palmerh72 hello! You are the loveliest and there are no annoying questions in Ooshmark. Some of it is still a mystery. When I get home I will post the instruction. You create a listing that says Not for sale - ISO (item). And then post a description and if you have a stock photo or something. And then you put zeroes in all the money blanks. And you share to your followers. I will share it several times a day and will ask my buddies to do that too. Will send more details. Thanks for writing! ❤️

Does he make more on other platforms? I have dabbled on others but Posh is still more fun even though sometimes I don't break even. My husband refers to it as my hobby and not a job. I have made alot of mistakes along the way - trying to sell clothes that are way too young for me. Now I am sticking to favorites and if my older-person things don't sell, so be it. My daughter is my reluctant model but now she's going off to college and I won't have one anymore.

My son has followed it for a couple of years (Instagram, Snap, Youtube) & now the adults are catching on. Learning as we go is a part of it, I am figuring out. I have a friend who wishes she could have 2 Posh pages: 1 for her regular wear style & another for her fantasy style. That would be fun! She and I both like the creative styling aspect of Posh, too.

jenandchase @wiredrose Thank u my son's style! I have been surprised by it actually. He has a good eye for style & what people are wearing & buying. So he has done well with his selling. He sells sneakers mostly, so that is why he makes the better money. Reselling sneakers is a hot & popular market & they sell $100-500 items quickly. Ebay is his preferred currently, but something called GOAT is good for his shoes, too. The fees are roughly the same. Posh is a much better platform, imo, too.

As for tips, share and like other people’s closets and you’ll build a following and make friends. I used to do the parties but IMO they never yield sales for me and I think it’s to keep you on the App.

wiredrose @mboutique4you 2/ there is often no pattern to sales. I have sold coats in summer and sandals in winter. If you purchase, always post a nice love note. Lowball offers are still such poor manners - and not in the Posh spirit and I hope you don’t get any.

wiredrose @mboutique4you 3/ I forgot to mention that private offers have been very effective. Once you get a few likes, you can extend private offers I think it has to be 10% lower and have a shipping reduction (maybe?) and it’s good to do that just after you get those likes.

wiredrose @mboutique4you overall, it’s the spirit of Poshmark that makes it so rewarding. I started years ago and even during the slow periods, you meet nice people. There was a long stretch when I didn’t post and then Covid kept me in the house and I posted a bunch of stuff.

My little girl just turned 17 yesterday! 😭 Driving with her......my poker face and outwardly calm demeanor have never served me better than now. Her father died a little over 2 years ago. As one of my favorite illustrators, Maira Kalman, says “everyone dies too young, everybody.” I have it taped to the wall. Driving with kids is quite the white-knuckle experience.
