threadbarefox Maybe you can help me to understand something. I can see that you're a seller too. So why would you make an offer for less than 1/2 of the asking price knowing the original price is twice the cost I'm selling the skirt. But you made an offer at even less than half of the listed price. I'm trying to understand the logic behind it.

stephpoyner @threadbarefox This is a website for selling clothes. Bartering is part of the process. You are selling for $60, I offer $25 in the hopes you will counter with $40. Or I just go to the Talbots Outlet store and get a similar skirt for $30. It is simple business. I will be going to the Talbots Outlet store.

threadbarefox @stephpoyner thank you, I appreciate your input. I think I understand. The items in my closet are actually from my closet purchased from higher-end stores (and not thrifted like some others) which makes me put a greater value based on what I paid. But why not offer the $40 you were willing to pay in the first place? I would have accepted a reasonable offer but I find it insulting when I'm offered less than 1/2 but again, thank you for your insight.

stephpoyner @threadbarefox I could have asked for $40, but then you could have come back and said $50, and I would decline. Shipping is an additional $7, that is a consideration. I have mostly sold designer jewelry online that is new with tags. Most of the time it has been at less than half of cost.
