oliviaslair @romebeckons This fella won’t come clean, (aside from sending it in a mental envelope & the druzy chips poured out in my hand), but even though I now see most of his jewelry is Turkey, & did not state the stamp in the bracelet, of allll of the misrepresentation

oliviaslair @romebeckons There’s far more. Paid a stupid amount, which I should not have, but his light was good & had the piece quite a ways from the photo. I would have recognized the stones immediately, I’m very familiar with the masses of rings being sold as vintage & real & blagh blagh.

oliviaslair @romebeckons I have to do a claim for the broken stone, but want to include the misrepresentation & find the site. I’ve searched many of them & come close but narrower, this is why I didn’t want to write it all in public & thought there was a private area.

romebeckons @oliviaslair I purchased this cuff in St. Louis from a boutique who's name I cannot recall. I doubt they have any connection to the dealer in question. I'm terribly sorry for what u are experiencing and hope u find a resolution.

oliviaslair @romebeckons Oh no, the boutique had nothing to do with the guy on eBay whom I’m dealing with. There is a flood on every site, & alll over this, which I put it together over a year ago when I purchased a ring & knew the stones were not real when arrived & the stamping, so went on a hunt on the sites & all were coming from “Alibaba.com.”

oliviaslair @romebeckons People are selling as “antique” “vintage” “real” & on & on. You buy them in in what ever minimum amount the site says. Also bracelets, necklaces, earrings, all the adornments. So the reason I asked you was because yours has the same stones, brass, all of it. If you put in these exact search words on here, “

oliviaslair @romebeckons Vintage ruby emerald ting” all but two or three are from these sites, and you’ll start to recognize them, they have a darker setting, all same stones, a bronze. Buyers are being taken left & right. And also “sterling” rings, I mean it’s bad. There are other wholesale sites, and once you start looking, you realize that you can trust next to nothing!

oliviaslair @romebeckons Check it out & put some words in the search, & you’ll come up with beautiful things, but all are synthetic, & while stamped “925,” it’s a thin plating over a base metal. Which, by a loophole in the import law, just by having silver content on the piece you can claim it as “925,” and the pieces all come from China, Turkey & Korea for the biggest part. The Turkish jewelry, which is called Ottoman, is gorgeous,

oliviaslair @romebeckons but what ever stones are in them, are created in bulk, or the castoffs lowest grade, not gem quality. They are indeed all hand set in the Grand Bazaar in India. But my issue is not saying what they are. There are some who will say Turkish jewelry, and if you do a google search you’ll see it everywhere, & indeed beautiful, but as for value, I mean, if you can buy a “emerald, Ruby & sapphire ring for 10.00, that tells you something!

So I’d just wondered if you had known a site where it came from so I could trace it back. That was all. I was burned on some ‘80’s earrings this week as well on eBay.
