legoatjames @luchino9 yea I watched a YouTube video. Dude said serial numbers on the box stickers of unauthentic airpods would show up valid on the Apple site somehow. So it seems like the only forsure way is inspecting the air pods themselves for small indications of being unauthentic. Pretty tricky stuff.
