sassyco @susismithHi! Your Anna Sui "Aloha Print" slip dress is from her Spring 1995 collection; I've never seen this in the blue colorway, always red (as shown on the runway) and Nordstrom redid this in a tan colorway. Great, RARE piece!

susismith @sassyco I don’t remember exactly when I bought this, I thought it was earlier than 1995? But I did purchase this at her store in soho ny & it was on sale! I bought a few pieces at her store. My fave is my grey with day glo plaid mohair suit. I even have the turtleneck & tights to match!

sassyco Hi! No, I've been collecting for years! I've got the dress in red (larger size) but I haven't seen the blue EVER! Super collectible! I didn't get to her boutique until the early 00s, it must have been very cool in the 90s. I think the suit you have is even earlier, perhaps 1992? Photos of her runway shows before 1996 (except Spring 1993) aren't available online, so it's hard to date everything. great that you have the entire suit ensemble!

sassyco For designer stuff, I like a site called firstview, but you can also look at runway shows on the vogue website. It helps if you have a general idea of when it's from so you can narrow down your search. You can also take a picture of an item you have, upload it into your search engine through image search with the designer name and item type. The image search also helps if it was sold by a retailer online in the past 3 years or so.

susismith @sassyco I’m trying to use the search engine with photo to find the designer stuff & I would like to know which search engine u use & WHERE you can enter the designers name? Or do you use a special app for that?

sassyco No. Just enter the designer name and what the item is, say St. John jacket, in the browser (Google and Bing for example) search bar, click on images in the text options that appear near the top of the results page to search for images. On the page of image results, there will be an icon in the upper right on the search bar that will allow you to search by image by uploading a photo. Once your photo is uploaded

sassyco you sometimes have to add the item name again, but it usually works. Being as descriptive as you can helps too, such as "St. John pink asymmetric collar wool jacket." And if you still have trouble, try being LESS specific, because not all items are described very well on some websites. Also try alternate words, like blazer for jacket.
