marlygems Hi, The shepherd hooks are gold plated. The plating is strong, I've worn this brand for years and it's fine. But I don't know the other metals involved, so if you have a strong allergy to some metals, guess this wouldn't be a good choice for you. I could put sterling silver backs on, but then it would be a mixed metal piece. Hope that helps.🍀
