I got into the fashion industry immediately following college and started working for a New York City Accessory company in 2002. I worked my way up to head designer of my department within 2 years and traveled the world designing accessories for just about every retailer in the US. The experience was unbelievable and filled me with so much knowledge about the industry and consumer but as all things evolve, so did I. I started a family and tracking the world just was not something I wanted to do anymore, I needed to be close to my children. This shift helped channel my energy into personal projects that I always yearned for creativity and my desire to run my own business. In 2014 I opened my first Etsy shop and started my brand, Mighty Oak Handbags. I never stopped making clothes and collecting vintage, I knew this is was path I was so passionate about. Over time I have collected a arsenal of quality clothing and vintage. The abundance of clothing has grown into a collection that will no longer fit in my space.
