horselover65 @tbushart707 Hi there! :) I’ve received my ring, very pretty! Took it to our local jeweler but he couldn’t see a stamp. Is it actual gold or gold plated? I thought maybe I could get description on Kay’s.com but couldn’t find the ring on their site.

horselover65 @tbushart707 the 3 stone men’s ring. Also it was a 6.25 instead of a size 8. Which is fine, I can wear it on my ring finger instead of my middle finger. :)

tbushart707 I found the one you are speaking of. That ring is about 15 years old. I personally took it to my Jeweler because I couldn't see any stamp but did see a worn area where it might have been. My Jeweler did look at it and claims it is 14K gold. Wirth 's Jewelers. I originally bought that ring for my now ex husband. He wore it on his pinky. When he left. I had it sized for me. I wore it a few times. But because of my job, I couldn't wear it so I kept it in my safe where it remained until now

horselover65 @tbushart707 I zoomed in close myself, and I could see a faint marking that looked like a 14K. I told my husband I thought it was there, and couldn’t understand why the jeweler couldn’t see it. If you had it cut down, I think they have to reshape, (so to speak) and smooth out the gold. That may be why you can barely see it. I’ve been skittish ever since a girl sold me a bracelet a few weeks back and told be it was actual gold, but when I received it, it was gold overlay!

barbambassador @horselover65 Hi 😊 Saw your question about ring being gold or not. I hope you don’t mind my input 😉 not all gold is stamped. I have a genuine Diamond necklace that’s not. Any goldsmith, jeweler or pawnbroker can test gold, Ive never been charged. It would be unusual if they would size a ring that is not genuine Gold. Hope this helps you both 🌹🌹

horselover65 @barbambassador Hi there! 🥰 It was actually gold! I’m just really cautious because of past experience. I know there’s a lot of “older” gold that’s not stamped. As far as those test kits I don’t find those to be 100% accurate! If jewelry has a heavier gold plating it can pass the the gold test but still not be actual gold! I usually take it to a jeweler that has a actual gold tester!

barbambassador @horselover65 I agree 😊 they have never charged me either. They’re very good. Because I do buy and sell jewelry, I did buy one though. It’s very accurate. It’s not the end of the line $10 one, but not an expensive one either. I think 50 or $60 is all. If you don’t deal with much of it, or buy a lot for your own it’s easier to just have your jeweler test it. Hope you’re having a lovely week 🌹🌹
