@paulette_reilly hey girl!! I’m actually still working PRN can you believe it. Guess you can’t take the nurse outta me. I love PRN though. Work when I want to😉. How are you?

@tlyst011 Doing great! It’s hard to turn nursing off! Part of your soul! Lol! Have 3 yrs 4 months till full retirement age. Less than 2 years for Medicare. Just taking care of my patients. I do pre-employment physical exams and acute care/ minor emergency visits M-F. Home by 5. Weekends and holidays off and my patients are like family since I’m going on my 11th year there! Better hours than ER although I miss the ER. It’s great that you can work whenever you want!

@paulette_reilly hey friend! Trying to. Unfortunately my parents have been ill so I find myself having to spend a lot of time making some very hard decisions and choices. We are leaving for Florida on the 30th for a month. 🤞. How are you?

@tlyst011 doing great! Still at employee health clinic. I took care of my mom for 3 years until she passed. Monthly MD Anderson trips. It’s so tough. Will pray for you all! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Have a great time!

@tlyst011 would you believe that I just found your note? So happy to hear you are doing well! Me, still working at the employee clinic. Love my patients! Reach full retirement age in less than a year and a half. Plan to do TeleDoc type visits 2 days a week after that allowing a lot of days in between for visiting family. Please keep in touch! Have a great time camping! May God watch over you today and always!!

@paulette_reilly Hey my friend! I did fully retire on 11/30/24 and did my mandatory 3 month time off and just started back at the hospital as a contract instructor teaching AHA courses. Love the freedoms! Plus being retired I get my pension 😉. Definitely an adjudgment though when you are used to being in charge and in the loop. So my advice is not to retire until you are fully ready to! Glad you are taking it slow in your decision.

@tlyst011 so happy for you! I’m going to do something similar. We are the county hospital affiliated with a medical school so I’ll be looking at the medical school after retiring from the hospital to do contract also. So happy I have a pension plus SS. A few years after I started working there they went to 401k only. They allowed us old timers to keep our pensions thank goodness! Enjoy your day!!
