My husband and I had a Tiger salamander named ‘Slamander’ for almost 10 years and we loved him so much! 🖤 I worked for the MDNR & he would be our critter highlight every summer at Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery.

salamanderranch @vintfromthemit That's terrific! We're up in the Upper Peninsula, and live in a ranch style log home in the woods, near a swamp. We have black spotted salamanders regularly show up on our external basement stairs, or even down at our foundation, so the name seemed like a natural fit.

salamanderranch @vintfromthemit We also have a woodchuck who regularly spends a few weeks around our wood pile, and my wife desperately wants to tame him. I presume the salamanders wouldn't care if she did, but he never sticks around long enough to make the attempt. :)
