When we were shopping estate sales to furnish our little farmhouse, we kept finding great vintage treasures. That led me into the resale market. Then my sister, mom and I started selling on Poshmark to raise spending money for my parents 50th Anniversary cruise and had so much fun that we kept selling. We plan to use the money to fund our next adventure! We sell items from our personal closets, estate sales and auctions. We clean everything and take a lot of care to write accurate descriptions.

ennazus72 @cottontalefarm It is hard to be patient. I started doing this because I am a 24/7 caregiver for my elderly father with dementia. Some days I have more dedication Poshmark and some days I have none. I have seen something that does work if you want to look it up on YouTube. It's about the 30 minute method of listing items, sharing items, following others,etc. I have gone weeks selling nothing and then one weekend, I sell five things . Good luck to you though you do have some very nice items

I don’t know how she does it except through pure love and faith. We’re selling on PM to make money for their 50th anniversary trip. So far we can buy a round of drinks! My sister and mom are helping, so it’s been a fun thing for us to do together.

I spent a lot of my childhood there. Born and raised in Florida but my grandparents lived in Garden City. As I’m sure you know, it takes a lot of time to add the extra touches (photography, multiple angles, thorough descriptions), but I think in the long run it’ll pay off. I’ll never understand how people sell wrinkled shirts displayed on the floor! Plus our barns need work and we can’t find anyone around here to work on them. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, but I have no idea how to level an 80 year old structure!

I have many items to I have yet to list; and I am still experimenting with what kinds of cover shots not just look good, but are also a good representation of me. So I totally get your taking care to do that with your closet! I will eventually get to where I want to be, I just need to be steadily improving and growing my closet. It takes some time. cottontalefarm @suzannelc I think your closet looks great! Having a mannequin makes a huge difference in presentation. I like to cross merchandise too, add shoes you are selling in pictures with your dresses etc. Plus then you can change the cover photo every few weeks to refresh the look. Your descriptions are also great, very thorough. Listings with over 100 words sell 40% better, again I think because buyers feel more confident when you pay attention to the details. One at a time!!! Good luck!!!

cottontalefarm @sunshinepam yay! I love that smell too! I used “ Le Blanc lavender linen water”. I think I may have even bought it on Amazon. They make other scents too, but I’m pretty sure that’s the one I use on your linens. It’s a great spray to use when ironing, but I also use it to refresh curtains, couches etc. I’m so glad it’s a good experience for you!!
