veronikoti @abstractdreams Maxie is a mama's boy! We joke that our female kitties are daddy's girls (they sleep on my partner when he naps), but Max sleeps on his legs at night, so he either likes him too, or is pinning him in place to keep him away from me! 🙀 The gray kitty is Maggie, she was only 3.5 yrs when she passed in 2014, we'd had her and Max since 11 weeks (siblings).

Sometimes I feel a bump against my leg, turn around and there's nothing there, or I'll see a gray fur blur out of the corner of my eye and think it's her. Heck, I still dream about my dog, Koti, and he's been gone for 12 years. They never really leave us. 🐾💗🐾

abstractdreams You know that's right!💕I started playing Sims Freeplay a yr or so ago when a friend begged me. I got to the place where I could buy a pet & I bought a black cat! Of course I named her Ebony...all the pets of my lifetime are in that game! My friend doesn't play any more! Lol!😝

abstractdreams Omg!! I just LOVE that!💕I was thinking that the last time I had a senior kitty with kidney problems was years ago when Eb was just a wee tiny baby. Poor ol' Buddy. =^..^=💋And now she's the senior...😪

veronikoti @barbara1995 Lol, I guess maybe it's what you started with! My cousin learned crochet first and thinks knitting is difficult, I'm the opposite. My mother taught me just the knit stitch, and I learned everything else on my own, because I love doing complicated cables and lacy patterns and couldn't wait for her to teach me more. One day I'll get the hang of crochet! I wish you well!

My little one, Belle, has started a new habit of jumping on me at night, and sticking her face in mine so I'll wake up and rub her belly, as she lays on my stomach. And of course she kneads my bladder while she's on me, so I have to get up and go. But she so cute! 💞😻💞

abstractdreams Lol!! Ebony used to always stand up on the stairs, poke her lil' head thru the railings & scream for me to come up to bed, regardless of the time! She would lay on my chest & puuuurrrrrr!. It was so relaxing! Lol! All of her "used to's" came to a halt when she got sick.😪But she's recently started behaving like her old self. Does my heart good.💕

veronikoti @abstractdreams lol, that's so cute, sticking her head between the spindles and squawking to get you to go to bed! Maggie used to run around and jump on the furniture and stand next to delicate things, like a glass lamp, sculpture or vase, and put her paw very close to it (but not on it), and go "rawr rawr??" as if to ask if it was ok to touch it! We'd say "no, Maggie!" And she'd go to something else and do the same thing each time! I totally miss that.

ambermagick98 @veronikoti lol...thats where my Conure stays with me. Not on my shoulder like my cockatiel. I have 2 Pugs, one is in a wheelchair, and i also have rescue cats. Plural Thats why I have to keep all my items for sale in my large upstairs bedroom that I turned into a walk in closet for storage! LOL. The cats know thats the one room their not allowed. 😉🌹🌞🐈🐩🐩🐶🐦🐦

veronikoti @ambermagick98 My sister tried to get her cockatiel to perch on her shoulder, but he preferred her bed. Aww, a pug in a wheelchair, that's great that you have rescues, our cats are from a rescue too. My gray baby, Maggie, passed away unexpectedly in 2014 at 3.5 yrs, and the tuxedo on my shoulder is her brother. He was lonely, so we adopted Belle from the same rescue, and they are great friends, most of the time. Max LOVES laundry, so I keep my posh clothes in Rubbermaid bins!

abstractdreams It's tough on men. I think they tend to identify with their occupations more than women do. But there are lots of things he can do without the demands of a 9 to 5. He just needs to figure out what.👍🏽Eb got another ultrasound this morning, and there's still clots in her bladder, but the "mass" is smaller & moves & the Vet is relatively sure it's not a tumor.😳So no more meds & subq fluids less often. Revisit in two weeks & check again.

veronikoti @abstractdreams You're right, plus the whole "man as breadwinner/protector" aspect of societal expectations, it can be hard on their self-esteem and identity. We had a huge fight a couple days after, but ultimately, it was good because I now understand what he's going through, mentally and emotionally.

veronikoti He hides his feelings and I can be sarcastic and snarky, so that made for a bad combination! Now we're on the same page. 👍 A craft brewery a few blocks away is opening a tap room soon, and he loves craft beer, he used to home brew, so he contacted the owner just to put his name out there for when he's looking to hire a few people (it's a 2 person operation right now). Hooray, I hope the mass dissipates completely! It will be nice for her to get a break from all the meds. Go Eb! 😻

abstractdreams Thank you hon.💋I don't regret the decision, I'm haunted by the way the day played out. It was two week ago today & we were @ vets right this minute. She perked up there! I wanted a check up & an appetite stimulant if they thought appropriate, which they did. I had a plan to increases subq fluids to daily, had a feeder syringe if she still didn't want to eat & her dr was going to call Oncologist on Mon., about how to proceed.

abstractdreams But the afternoon was horrible! She cried & cried. She had started leaking for lack of a better word & maybe that was it for her. She stopped cleaning herself, fell over a few times, that's hen she stopped eating (she'd lost 25% of her body weight in about 6 wks). I gave her fluids, tuna water, some babyfood. Every time I picked her up, I was doing something awful! I was carrying her to the litterbox & she laid down in it, looked up @ me & cried. I heard "why?" And that was all I could take.😪💔

abstractdreams @veronikoti : Ozzie's a bit better 2 weeks in & I have moments where grief doesn't completely overwhelm me. I got a full nights sleep last night (without a glass of wine to "help").
