Hi! I'm Virginia. Friends call me Ginger. My closet is named after my pittie princess Ginger Dawg — my husband named her. Lol). Sadly, Ginger passed away recently but I like seeing her photo every time I come here, so…. ❤️. It’s been a bittersweet year, as April ‘23 marks SIX years I’ve been cancer free!! WOOOOOOOOOH🥳 🥳 I am officially a Senior Citizen now, so I guess I should be wise and have great advice. Waiting for something deep to swell up within my brain. Waiting…. Oh... we make a bit of $ along the way that's great -- but it IS deposits into Life's Karma Bank that truly matter and defines us (wow…. VERY Deep thoughts!). I thought I was gonna have to make something up on the fly, but that one is very true. I love meeting fellow Poshers — particularly those who love talking about our furry kids. 😆.

gingerdawgg SO nice to be offered a bit of hand-holding, Vicky! I have been reading up and trying to figure things out before venturing too much. Taking notes and getting ideas. Have LOTS of stuff to list. My mom was a shopaholic and major fashionista. She's gone now, but her "stuff" remains. I love the "feel" of Poshmark -- QUITE different than EBay -- and how folks are encouraged to reflect their personality and socialize. LOVE your furry baby pics and items too!

I have tried to text Poshmark with questions several times with canned remarks but then there is NO follow-up. Is there ANY way to talk to live people? Is there some forum where I can talk with other Poshers easily?

gingerdawgg @vicky-ymcagirl @donnaw1 I see the sippin party and meet-ups; but I'm talking just an online forum where I might ask questions... Do we as sellers HAVE to sell our things via bundles? I was looking at those "overweight" amounts and can see where that could SERIOUSLY cut into profits extremely quickly. LOL But then.. I have yet to sell a single thing, so I'm not sure why I'm worried. That leads me to my second question.

Maybe I just haven't hit on the right demographic yet... or maybe my stuff isn't marketable here... or maybe my prices are too high... I don't know, but when I post clothes on EBay, they sell pretty darned quickly. I just really liked the "tone" of Poshmark so I thought this might be more "me"...

gingerdawgg @vicky_ymcagirl @donnaw1 I hope y'all don't mind a couple questions... When someone buys a bundle from us, is THAT bundle amount total what Posh charges their fees for, rather than for the individual items? Say the bundle is 2 $10 shirts and a $20 one, totalling $40. Posh takes 20% of $40 or are they doing the individual fees?

The $2.95 fee on under $10 items REALLY seem to add up. I want to be able to give folks a "deal" but when the amount gets low, that fee REALLY hurts... Ideas? I really appreciate.

sweetabell @gingerdawgg 1). No you don't have to sell by the bundle. Up until last week a customer could only discuss a bundle via posts. Or go by our discount. Now they can build a bundle and then make an offer to us on the whole thin. With that being said, you want bundles always.

But if I can say that such low items are good in a bundle, that would make it MUCH more reasonable to me, you know? Ideas? Thx!

sweetabell @gingerdawgg well, first, I wouldn't list anything for $5.00. Always leave yourself room for an offer. Bundles? They are sold 20% off total. Then of course anything under $10. Posh's commissions are a flat $2.95 I believe.

gingerdawgg @donnaw1 Thanks for the quick reply. The $5 and under things are where my concern is. I have LOTS of cute costume earrings that would fall into that range. I'm wondering if I could stipulate that those are available in bundles only rather than to be bought separately. I'm not even sure if used earrings would be marketable, in all honesty. I'm sterilizing them in alcohol, but I know some folks may be concerned.

vicky_ymcagirl @gingerdawgg hey Ginger! You have some good questions! 👍🏻 The lowest price I have is $8. Posh takes $3 off anything $15 and under, then 20% off above $15. I have some listings with 2 like items ( socks/bras/same size tops) already bundled. I'm always surprised folks will buy a $8 top & pay that $6 shipping instead of bundling! Hope that helps!

gingerdawgg @vicky_ymcagirl I was just trying to think of a way of working around that DARNED HIGH $3 fee for lower priced items. I'm thinking BOGO, pre-batched lots, and as an "extra gift" might be workable. I have a TON of scrubs. I only put a few on here and NO NIBBLES. NADA. Most are marked at $6. That would give me $3 and I still can't sell them. They're in excellent shape...

gingerdawgg Shaking my head. Any lower and I feel like I'm giving them away. I wish there was ways of having different bundle discounts, you know? I don't want to offer 50% off everything, but I might be willing to do that on certain items. There's a lot I really love about Poshmark, though. Still trying to figure things out. I would like to offer my 2 cents on pricing help. Lately I have been clicking on shop,then an item, say a top, then click the brand or size info,etc and then click on availability and see what like items you are wanting to list have sold for.

exwolfe Also I like to look at items in others closets that may be similar to mine (brand etc) and share from those closest that have liked the item to hopefully get them to stop by your closet. One other thing I will ad is that I love to share with new compliant closets, so if you want shares returned you can stop by. You have a lovely closet and I wish you all the best with it:)

I'm donating a percentage of my profits to a couple causes this year, including Pit Bull Rescue and Breast Cancer Research. I didn't advertise this as it's my sincere belief that charity is not meant to put us in the spotlight, you know? But I DO believe the breed really deserves to be in a positive spotlight and rescue groups SERIOUSLY need support. Mulling this idea over.
