I am a mom, artist, trained yoga instructor and hobby enthusiast! Born in South Africa, I moved to Seattle from Cape Town with my family in 2015. My classical realism oil paintings have found their way into new homes internationally. Inspired by my South African upbringing and Indian roots, I'm now focusing on copper and silver wire wrapped techniques with natural gemstones and beads. The pieces listed that differ from this range , were made before I got myself caught up in wire 😊.

artsie_1 Your work is beautiful. I love painting as well. Jewelry is one form of art work I haven't tried. Probably a good thing, though I like something, could it be done in silver? I do love the copper. I don't have any Copper pieces.

gaiajewellery @artsie_1 I miss painting but it's a lot harder to market ( although to be fair I haven't really tried very hard here ) just thought jewelry would be easier to sell than paintings. I have made some silver pieces and most definitely want to make more , it's just a lot more expensive and I'm trying to cover my costs on the copper and gemstones before I do more . Which designs would you be keen on me making in silver ? I can have something up in a few days ?

artsie_1 @gaiajewellery You are so right about selling jewelry being easier than paintings. I get on a kick of doing acrylic, then watercolors, then just pencil/charcoal. I do it more for stress relief than anything. Starving artists have the name for a reason! I do love your copper pcs, just wondered about silver. I'm certain you will be hearing from me really soon. I broke my leg & ankle Tues and am a little preoccupied.
