warrenberlinsky @pickinabox Hello! Thanks so much! I think it's just because it's a rare, sought after design. It was made about 9-10 years ago and in limited quantities (I believe they were for sale on the Fletcher-Chouinard Designs site and not the actual Patagonia site which could also be why they are rare) honestly though, I'm just a nerd with a hat problem and I've wanted this one for a while so I couldn't let it slip. hahaha I was actually going to ask you also, where did you originally get it?

warrenberlinsky @pickinabox as for the Malloy brothers stuff, those dudes are Patagonia ambassadors and I've probably seen them wearing it within old Patagonia catalogs from back then, but that's not what sparked my interest. haha mainly just the color scheme and the uniqueness/it being so different than the new hats available is why I like it!!

pickinabox @warrenberlinsky actually my mother in law got it in a lot of things (she sells on eBay) she was going to just throw it out! My husband spotted it in her garage and she told us we could have it to sell if we wanted.

pickinabox @warrenberlinsky this is the Seller’s husband, there is a story behind the hat. My cousin, an avid outdoorsman, died unexpectedly shortly after graduation from UGA while hiking with his fiancé and dog. An auction was hosted in Athens called Alanfest, bringing friends and family together to celebrate his life and a silent ballot auction fundraiser was held to raise scholarship funds in his name.
