I'm 55 and have loved fashion my whole life! I vividly remember my first day of Kindergarten outfit down to the white lace ankle socks and black patent Mary Jane’s! In the late 70’s I spent free time trolling West Palm Beach thrift stores scoring amazing finds before it was cool (and the inventory too picked over!). I live in a modern house in New Orleans with inadequate storage: when an item comes in, one must go! I love talking fashion and passing on my treasures to make room for new ones!

wendyinnola @nikoneko Have a spectacular weekend and don’t stress the trip! Remember to bring an empty suitcase!! Seriously!! I’ve actually gotten to the point where I travel fairly light to Europe. I buy a new Rimowa if I’m anywhere in Germany because the prices are mind-bogglingly low, (and it’s the BEST SUITCASE EVER) and fill it with all the clothes and tchotchkes I collect along the way. I’ve even brought home a hat rack in my suitcase- I kid you not!!

wendyinnola @nikoneko ahhhhhhhh!! Venezia!!!!!! My soul’s home! Lived there like a real person in an apt for 4 months Jan-April 1989 on study abroad during grad school. Never will forget it!! The night I arrived - alone, at midnight, taking the vaporetto from the train station I knew it would be so hard to leave. The night before I left 4 months later, I walked the silent streets alone for hours weeping!!!

wendyinnola @nikoneko well, it’s been a long time and everybody likes different things! Personally with the time you ya e and just stay in Venice proper. If you go to one of the islands I’d take a vaporetto out to S. Giorgio Maggiore—spectacular Palladio church and monastery. Most tourists don’t go cuz there at Harry’s bar at the Cipriani next door.....AVOID!

In addition to your Paige’s I did have myself a bit of a buying spree over last several days and vowed to myself to take a little breather at least until everything arrives and I can reassess what I have and what I need in the jeans/ pants dept in particular.

nikoneko @wendyinnola I would love that! I witnessed a violent accident and it was traumatizing. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I called 911 and tried to tell the victim what the operator was telling me, but he was in deep shock. Every bystander jumped into action, which was heartening. But it was so terrifying. An SUV t-boned a cyclist at high speed. The impact was shocking.

nikoneko @wendyinnola He was injured - I thought surely he was dead on impact. He flew so high into the air. He was young, which probably helped. The 911 operator kept emphasizing that he was in shock and couldn’t feel anything, don’t let him move. Another woman called her doctor boyfriend. The driver was fine, it was an enormous SUV. I think an Uber Black. I can’t wait to get texting with you!
