My name is Chris, and I am Amaria's Husband. Amaria started this closet with a dream to one day open a boutique.
Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with myleofibrosis (a bone marrow cancer), and couldn't keep up.
I want to keep her dream alive until she gets a transplant & can use posh profits to start her own store.
She loves Dollskill, kate spade, Betsy Johnson, Killstar, and Blackmilk & can't wait until she can fill a store with her aesthetic.

I was very excited when my mom joined Posh, so I know what you mean😃 as far as advice on full time boutique, I think it's very different for each person. I started very slow into retail/wholesale. I got my license. Then I added more and more. But I am always super careful on two non negotiable self rules. Continue

@blandw first, never buy inventory that I do not personally like. I think of it as a mini brick and mortar and what would I stock my boutique with that represents my taste? (Some items it's more like "if I were younger" or "if I had the bod" lol) but still, I personally like items😃 second, be sure your never in the hole when ordering more inventory. Get a good feel for what your buyers are leaning towards. Continue

@blandw for instance, I have made the mistake of ordering far too many of one item, and it turns out to be a slow seller. Or I ordered just a few of an item, and it sells out quick!😳if that happens, order more quick!!! Lol. Search retail section, try not to order items you see in too many closets. Find stuff that you truly like and believe in.

I feel awful because I do not use the Posh portal for my wholesale stuff. I never have. I use my own distributors. And, like Bland, Posh is more of a part time hobby business for me now😢

@deardeerapparel @blandw with that being said, there is no reason you can’t begin slowly with integrating boutique items into your closet. 😍. You obviously have a passion for it! I would take time, and sift through the portal inventory slowly, and start with one batch of items. Shirts are usually a good bet. Be sure you get more size medium and up rather than small.
