Hello I’m so excited to join Poshmark. My main reason for joining is because I’ve been put in charge of my mother in law, Peggy’s treasures. Peggy has two sons which neither ended up having any children. I am married to one of her sons. I know she’s gathered these treasures through her decades working at Marshall Fields - Chicago based store (now also retired) to pass along to her grandchildren. Besides a very few items of treasures her boys have held on for memories they would of thrown everything away or dropped to Goodwill (maybe, but not likely). I don’t blame them the task is overwhelming & is something they mentally cannot do. Peggy has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s living in a memory care unit 10 minutes away from us. Both Peggy and us struggle through with the memories she fights to have. So my best way of coping and supporting Peggy, my husband and brother in law is to honor her treasures and find a new loving, appreciated home 💗. A diagnoses of Alzheimer’s is devastating in so many aspects for the individual and family. All we can do is try to do our best everyday…& accept we are all filled with flaws yet beautiful. In my listings, in the discriptions you’ll find “Peggy’s Treasures” to acknowledge it was an item of hers.
