amandat625 @slave_to_love it's just awful ☹️ and I researched other resale apps. All terrible.

indiashea42 I did some research for you, as I have also been looking to eitger switch all together or go on more than one site. Anyway, as far as ratings go Poshmark got a 4.2. There are 3 that got a 4.6...Varage Sale (learning curve, but very helpful administration), threadUP (I was originally going to go through them), and Offerup ( I think this is a more local based thing tho...not sure.

indiashea42
indiashea42 There are 2 more that got 4.4 ratings ..one is called vinted and the other is the M word, which I've heard people talk about on here, but I don't know anything about it except they must take less seller fee's b/c people always say they they are able to sell their items for less on there. BAD APP: tradsey! Everything on there is outrageously expensive and if you ever show any interest in their site, they will hijack your email.

amandat625 @indiashea42 that's so nice of you! We can cross threadUp off the list as well. Their contact support is just as bad if not worse. And how it works is you send them a big bag full of pretty much brand new or flawless mostly brand name items, anything less will not qualify so Vintage is pretty much out. They'll give you like $13 for the whole thing and if you want your rejected items back you pay them $9,

amandat625
amandat625 then take your items and sell them at way more inflated prices than the percentage they gave you. You'd make more at a local consignment shop than with them.
Feb 08Reply
amandat625
amandat625 I'll definitely need to look into vinted and varage sale, I haven't heard of them before. The M one I checked out but I don't remember my conclusion. OfferUp is more like a safer Craigslist.

amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 so far I've gathered, I make more $ on my non brand name and random items on Poshmark than I would at local consignment. And anything that is brand name or super rare. Take to eBay and sell at a fixed price. I get way more back even after eBay and paypals fees than on posh. Sometimes I'll list it on here too at a higher price to see what goes through first.

amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 I always avoided eBay because I never understood shipping. And flat rate is too high for just one item. (Unless it's heavy boots). But now I'm getting the hang of it and you can purchase labels right on their site plus they give you a discount. For non flat rate shipping you just need package measurement and weight. So I'll use media mail because it's the best rate.

indiashea42 @amandat625 Thanks for the heads up about Thredup. I actually do have a card from a magazine saying where to get tje most money for your used items, and for clothing, it does say ebay and it suggests to list your items for 7 days to get the best deal. For shoes and handbags, it definitely says consignment shops and that sandals, comfortable flats, name brand sneakers, and solid colored purses are the most popular.

indiashea42
indiashea42 Keep in mind that there are 2 "sets" of conseigment shops...those who cater to the rich and will only take name brand anything, and then places like Plato's closet...they are geared twords teenagers and, as long as your stuff is in good condition they'll take it.
Feb 08Reply
amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 right! I've used Platos but now they are so incredibly picky (at least the one by me) and don't give you much at all. But I do get better percentage at resale shops in hipster towns. In Austin I used to sell at a place called Buffalo Exchange and here in Detroit I use a place called Regeneration. There is one that's strictly for plus. Size that I've yet to check into.
Feb 08Reply
indiashea42
indiashea42 That's awesome! Umm, did you just notice that they have raised the shipping fee by a dollar? As if it wasn't hard enough to sell lowest priced items before! I wont be buying anything on here again. I think they're going to loose a lot of people b/c people who want to buy something for $7 are not going to pay double that!
Feb 08Reply
amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 wow! That is ridiculous!! Ugh you're right. It'll be hard to sell now! 😖 and with no warning.
Feb 08Reply
indiashea42
indiashea42 @amandat625 Not that it will matter, but I sent them an email telling them they've already lost customers and they are just going to loose more b/c, as sellers we either have to lower our prices to keep selling or up our discount on bundles, and buyers are not going to pay $7 for an item if it means actually paying double that when if the item was worth more than that, we would have priced it more to begin with.
Feb 08Reply
indiashea42
indiashea42 Of course, their price hike is way out of porportion with the actual raise in postage. I suggested letting customers choose b/t prioroty, 1st class, or media mail, but that will never happen
Feb 08Reply
amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I'll write to them too. Though I know there will never be a response.
Feb 08Reply
amandat625
amandat625 Because you're right it won't matter. I tried writing a review to the Poshmark app in the Apple Store and it wouldn't even post it with a lame response that not enough people have reviewed it yet. I find that hard to believe.
Feb 08Reply
indiashea42
indiashea42 @amandat625 I already wrote a review on Android, so Apple be full of sh*t. On a little bit of an up note, I either read it wrong or they backed off a little on the postage hike...it's $6.49 now
Feb 08Reply
amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 still way too high for something weighing under a pound. Looks like I might be breaking the rules soon and announcing that each item is on eBay with the same title.
Feb 08Reply

indiashea42
indiashea42 @amandat625 Hey there! How's it going? Can I just tell you that ever since that day when they raised the shipping people have been all "hell to the no" with buying things And I get it, I do, but Jesus..Throw me a gd bone here. So, I buy wholesale clothes (NOT through Pmark, because I've seen the quality and outrageous prices of that) It's only been a week, but the things I bought are so much more attractive, much better quality, and I priced it so much lower, yet nada.
Mar 05Reply
amandat625
amandat625 @indiashea42 I know!! I even wrote to them thanking them on behalf of my bank account because now I will have an easier decision not to spend my money on their site. 🙄🙄🙄

indiashea42
indiashea42 Hey there! I have been so stupid not to think of this idea sooner. It's difficult to write about on here because as soon as you type in a certain word, they flag you, and your message disappears, but let's just say that I have figured out a much better way. If you want to email me, it's indiashea42@gmail

dannielynn8 @indiashea42 I post everything high because i usually take 20-50% off everything so shipping drops. But some times it doesn't so how do you get shipping to deffinatly drop.

dannielynn8 I also am curious as to if you guys had any trouble with ebay. Like with people canceling the order wgen it has been sent out. I sold some fur boot cuffs that the lady sent back a bunch off tissue paper. I had already had been scamed a few years ago out of a $1,800. Prafa bag my daughter was selling for me. The lady got ahold of posh said that the bag wss not as described sent pictures of a complete different

dannielynn8 Bag then they won so they sent the bag back but instead of the bag it wss rocks and tissue paper that came up to almost the same weight as thr bag i sent. So they denied my daughter the insurance money and we were out $450.

dannielynn8 So any help with other sights will be great. I do not sell any of my higher end stuff on here frim bad experiences..
Apr 05Reply
amandat625
amandat625 @dannielynn8 on eBay I always try to make sure the sale is set to immediate pay. And I think only the seller can cancel the order. That is so shitty. I hate how Poshmark doesn't back it's sellers.

dannielynn8 @amandat625 thanks. I did not know you could do that on eb..
