William Allister (1919 - 2008), nationally acclaimed Canadian artist was born in Manitoba. He was an actor in Hollywood, soldier in Hong Kong, prisoner of war in Japan, writer in New York and Mexico, and painter in Montreal and Tsawwassen, BC, where he passed away in 2008. For your consideration, a vintage circa 50s original oil on canvas painting, signed in the low left, titled " Among The Weeds", the painting is framed in a wooden frame pictured in the photos. Pre-owned vintage condition, as seen in the photos, the frame shows wear, as seen in the photos, the artwork was sold through one of the oldest Montreal Art Galleries - Elca London, the original card is still intact.
