RARE Handmade Limited Birkenstock Central St Martins Rothschild Leather Sandals

Birkenstock's partnership with London fashion institution Central Saint Martins launched a two-year project with the BA Fashion History & Theory and MA Fashion courses and these rare sandals are one of the winning entries and Birkenstock's first-ever Archive style. Over a year of product development, four of the student-designed entries qualified for serial production. Each design has the student's name embossed in the iconic Birkenstock footbed. This winning pair is by CSM student Alecsander Rothschild and entitled the Bukarest! Inspired by Brancusi's contrasting use of different materials and textures Rothschild designed the shiny silver leather, ankle strap Birkenstock. There were originally white removable shields on the sandals, but these are not included.
