Extremely rare, authentic designer, 1980s vintage hot pink and black matching set (sleeveless dress and link blazer) made in collaboration by top Toronto-based Canadian designers Sunny Choi and Linda Cherry collaboration.
Both the dress and blazer are lined and feature rhinestone buttons. The dress features criss-cross straps, and the blazer features shoulder pads.
The fabric on both garments, exclusive of trim, are a blend of 50% Rayon, 44% Triacetate (a wrinkle-resistant high-end vegan/wood silk), and 6% Polyester.
The set is in a women's size 4.

This set was purchased in the early 1980s at the Toronto Cherry boutique in Yorkville on Avenue Road for ~$800, which with an inflation conversion (1985 to 2025) translates to over $2,000.

About Sunny Choi:
Choi is a Korean-Born Canadian fashion designer, illustrator, & visual artist. A prominent women's fashion designer regarded as one of North America's leading designers in the 80s-90s. Internationally known for her elegant women's eveningwear & special occasion looks, with gowns worn on the red carpet. Her clothing was sold at Saks Fifth Avenue as well as in high-end boutiques across America. She taught at the OCAD, & designed costumes for the National Ballet of Canada.

About Linda Cherry:
Linda Cherry was an 80s fashion designer turned sculptor. She is part of the renowned Cherry family, a prominent family in Toronto who have been in fashion for generations with retail roots in Canada tracing back to 1906 (womenswear store Madam Cherry), followed by their daughter Esther Cherry opening the Irene Shop in 1935, and her children Alan, Linda and Joy expanding the family business further in the 70s and 80s with each opening high-end boutiques.
