This is fastened to the upper at the ankle by a strap that fastens with two large bronze studs and closes over the zip fastening on the inside of the foot, where it has hook & loop fastening. The cuff can, therefore, be unfolded to create a calf-length boot where the furry interior is no longer exposed.
