darcysdresser Congrats! I have struggled since childhood, and was discouraged when doctors would say "you're not trying hard enough". Last year I discovered Functional Medicine and it has changed my life. Finally, someone figured out what was wrong, and is actually helping me. My overall health is being addressed and the weight loss is a "side effect". debcrawley Congrats on weight, your look amazing and I know you feel better. I had the gastric by pass in 2003 and have managed to keep it off but it is a struggle. I lost 168lbs, another person lol. But I feel so much better and love shopping for clothes. Enjoy and take care.

People don't realize the stress the weight puts on your joints and muscles. I will take this skinny, saggy body anyday over what I carried before.

vbhernandez @mosaismom I struggle with my weight as well bad genes & I’m a big time foodie. Bad combo but I’ve lost it being on a plan but it took too much out of my diet. I got the same reactions as you did from your g-mom. It eventually came back now I exercise 4-5 times a week feel great but am not where I want to be. I’m afraid surgery would make me too small if that make sense. But girl you look great & I know you feel it too!!!

My fear is if I start eating too much with hopes of getting some curves back, I will stretch my sack. So trying to be patient and careful not to do anything that can reverse whats been done. The struggle is real.

lolardh @sarais_legacy reading this, I feel as though you captured my exact feelings! I had VGS on 3/28/19. I was 18/20 and at 45 had the surgery, best decision to date. Only regret is not doing it sooner. I’m down 63 pounds, but I’ve stalled for 3 months. It’s been a little hard, I’m doing all the same as prior months. But still is this is where I end up, I still can breathe easier, move better, and enjoy my family more. Congratulations to you and your wonderful journey

sarais_legacy @lolardh Congratulations beautiful. Be patient with yourself, and the process. I, unfortunately did not experience a slow down, and lost way too much, too soon. I suffered from depression, (still am), and lost some function in my left foot, (due to thinning skin which caused damage to my sciatic nerve).

As I continue to learn to live in my new body and heal physically and emotionally, I am grateful for how far I have come for sure. aydeesmirna Hello! It has been a long journey after my surgery thank you for your encouragement! I had it last June and have lost 55 still going for 25 more! Do you work out? I'm very tired every day to hit the gym but I need to. Sagging skin now. You look fabulous! I hope I can look as healthy and as great as you one day!

sarais_legacy @aydeesmirna Hi. I can certainly relate. My recovery was tough and longer than expected, and still going. I'm currently in physical therapy for foot drop due to a damage nerve in my leg caused by compression on thinning skin! What?!? Actually, after PT its been advised I get a trainer to strengthen my legs to further aid with the foot drop. It has not been all rosy I will say.
