Lovely handwoven silk double Ikat Indian saree. Very light, beautiful vibrant colors and patterns. Approximately 44x80”, measured without fringe. Traditional Double Ikat Weave creates patterns that are clear and often appear identical on both sides of the fabric • The main body of the saree is a deep, dark navy color, which provides a strong contrast for the repeated, intricate motifs. •The motif is a stylized floral or vine-like design in a lighter color (off-white or cream). The individual flower or fan-like elements are connected by delicate, curving vines, moving beyond the traditional strict geometric patterns that are also common in Pochampally Ikat. • Color Palette: The combination of the dark background and the light motif is classic and elegant, while the borders introduce bold, contrasting colors that are typical of this style. • The ends of the saree (pallu) and the borders feature an elaborate pattern of horizontal stripes: • The primary accent colors are bright yellow/gold and vibrant red. • These stripes are interspersed with bands of grey or darker colors and fine white lines, creating a very detailed and arresting striped pattern. • A solid band of red runs along one long side, and a matching solid band of yellow/gold runs along the opposite long side, framing the central field. • Finish: The ends of the saree are finished with a traditional fringe of tassels (kuchu), which adds to its handwoven appeal.
