maddlestone @kir0211 I started on eBay but found I liked Poshmark better for clothing items. While I have only been on Poshmark for a month, the social aspect of Poshmark and the ease of listing items here is better for me.

maddlestone @kir0211 I would recommend getting in on a few “share groups” on Poshmark. I am in two that focus on men’s items. They help a lot. Also, working the parties helps a ton. I share my whole closet once or twice during a party AND share a lot of other people’s stuff. If you share 5 or more of their items, people are more apt to look into your closet.

I have been here on Posh since 2015, but I wasn’t active or trying to sell until just recently I wish I would have at least tried to build more of a following in all these years ha.

maddlestone @kir0211 share groups get together and share a certain number of items from each persons closet. @stanleyshares is one. Click on @stanleyshares. If 20 people sign up for today, I share five items from each of their closets and they do the same. I am sure there are share groups for women’s items too

maddlestone @kir0211 one more thing. If you have an iPad, you will find that following and sharing is much more efficient than on an iPhone. On an iPhone, you see 8 people at a time when you are Following. On an iPad, you see 15 at a time so a lot less scrolling. Also, Sharing on an iPhone requires you to select on and open each item before Sharing. On an iPad, you can Share without opening each item. You essentially Share twice as fast.

maddlestone @krvb2 they both work for me. I sell 7-8 items a week and Poshmark is now 60% of it and growing. I have been successful on eBay in the past by doing the auction style with a buy it Now option. Some stuff only has one bidder so you tend to let things go cheaper there if it isn’t in demand. I am winding down eBay in favor of Poshmark since I prefer shopping on Poshmark so I tend to spend more time here.

lisamaried Hi ~ love your photos here. Would love to know the story behind them. My brother was a professional golfer who switched careers to become a sports radio talk show host in Clearwater, Fl. He used to take his listeners to Ireland every year to golf, and appeared in the first show of The Big Break (golf competition) and, among other things, Co-hosted Grey Goose 19th a Hole on TV.

maddlestone @lisamaried thanks for the kind words. sounds like your brother has a lot of talent! The first pic is the view from my house overlooking the lake we live on just north of Charlotte. The next few pictures are golf pictures from a trip my buddies and I took to Scotland last year. The last pic of Eminem refers to my nickname. My initials are MM coupled with my losing 45 pounds prompted my buddies to start calling me Slim Shady after an Eminem character.

My brother WAS on top of his game until he was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer a year ago. He’s back & forth with Duke w treatments & physical therapy in FLA. His quality of life has diminished significantly; he can’t even hold a conversation much less complete a sentence. I was visiting and helping them out for a bit and am just now getting back to sharing.

I try to ensure I display items as well as I can even though my camera sometimes likes to capture a different color than intended. I just read through your tips for new sellers and really appreciate that you took the time to put that together. maddlestone @gdbolden1 OMG! That sucks. I am glad they fessed up to their conveyor belt mishap. I would also recommend opening a claim with Poshmark. I bet Poshmark has run into this situation before and they may have some ideas for you/us. Maybe even a parallel path to keep you whole on this.

There are definitely tricks to this app. Success is about (1) building a critical mass of Followers so Follow a lot of people. (2) Success is about getting your items seen by as many people as possible. To do this, make sure you Share, Share, Share. You can do this by simply Sharing people or by joining a Share Group so your stuff is seen by YOUR Followers as well as THEIR Followers.
