Sz 10, Emma Domb, mint, embroidered silk organza.

This is a stunner by Emma Domb of California, late 40’s early 1950’s. Embroidered organza layers with pleating. Very flattering squared neckline with organza pleated inward to frame the collarbone and face. Back metal zip. The colour is a slightly rose latte’ colour that was so popular at this point in time. Pair it with red, turquoise or Loren green shoes or go for a more understated look with tan or black. So easy to style. Even though I did an awful job of photographing this dress please don’t hold it against it. I steamed it out but because my dress form is way too small for the dress it sort of collapsed on itself and looks like I took it out of a box and threw it one the form. Vintage label says size “20” which by my estimation is about a modern 10? Bust 42” Waist 33” Hip 44” Appears as if someone wore this to an event and then it went into storage. It could use a dry cleaning maybe or if you’re a skilled hand washer that would work as well. Organza appears to be silk, I see no staining or damage. Still has the little sweat guards of the time inside of it. Really a beautiful and a bit more modern Emma Domb who is known mainly for her huge crinolined skirted dresses but those just don’t work for everyone. And this is such a good and rare size. Came with a vintage trousseau from the same woman as a beaded number I have coming up this week.
