Victorian 9K Gold Cameo by Edward J Carnelly England (Brooch + Pendant)

I’m not usually one for cameos: but this Victorian piece is just beautiful! Made in England by Edward Carnelly and elegantly set in 9K gold (common in the UK), it features the soft lines of a female bust. It can be worn as a pendant on a dainty chain, or you may use its pin to wear it as a brooch. This piece is dated to circa 1850-1870 based on the marks, as well as the handmade tube hinge and handmade c-catch clasp mechanism. These designs predate modern brooch hardware. Approx. 1.25” tall and 1” wide. Stamped with both purity mark and maker’s mark on the reverse.
