Ultra rare vintage belted wool coat by Azzaeine Alaia. - Vintage from the late 80s~early 90s - Metallic collar hook - Deep side pockets - Wool belt - Wide button array, functional on one side and decorative on the other - Lapel can be worn open or closed - Wide pleat in back - Made in France "Azzedine Alaïa (1940 – 2017) opened his ready-to-wear business in Paris in 1980, after having worked at Mugler, Guy Laroche, and Dior. He was known for his work in knits and Lycra, especially that done in the mid 1980s. His designs were generally made from black or dark solid colors, and his dresses were tight, showing off every curve. Many feature a deeply scooped back." Size: Tagged an 8, with a versatile fit that could work to an XL. Only element that fits true to size is the collar hook. Everything else is oversized. Colour: Hard to pin down but I'd say a purplish brown. Collar photo with tape measure captures it best. Material: 100% wool for a soft and luxurious fabric Condition: Very good vintage with some marking to the hem. Otherwise excellent.
