Vintage Alpacama Wool/Cashmere Coat In Dark Grey Men's Size XL Made In Canada

Vintage Alpacama Wembley Model Wool and Cashmere coat in good vintage condition! Listing as a Men's size XL. Branded as "Canada's Most Famous Coat" the Wembley model overcoat from Alpacama is a fine example of bygone quality and craftsmanship. Featuring a wool and cashmere blend fabric in dark grey knit pattern, and a full length design for those cold autumn and winter days. The coat is truly robust and heavy by modern standards, which is ironic considering that it was sold with the slogan "Light as a feather, warm as a blanket." Also featuring a three button single breasted closure, two exterior waist pockets, an interior chest slip pocket, partial lining, and button details on the cuffs. The coat does show some wear; most notably a threadbare patch on the lower right of the coat, and a smaller one on the upper left chest. In addition there is loose stitching on the interior, both around the hook loop and at the base of the lining. Nonetheless it's in decent shape for a piece of this vintage and is certainly a very well made coat. I'm very confident in dating this to the late 1940's or 1950's (I believe that the newspaper advertisement I found was from 1949!) As always feel free to ask me any questions or make me an offer.
