Vintage Cebe 495 Walter Cecchinel 4000 Sunglasses

The vintage Walter Cecchinel glacier glasses are an iconic piece of modern ski eyewear, produced in very limited quantities in France. Designed for high performance, they feature rubber-coated ear stems that remain comfortable even in extreme cold and front air vents to minimize fogging. Walter Cecchinel, a respected instructor at the national ski and mountaineering school in Chamonix, France, played a key role in developing advanced climbing techniques, including ax-traction and forward-facing spikes, which are still in use today. These unisex Cebe 495 glasses offer an adjustable ear stem design for a customized fit. The frame measures approximately 5.5 inches temple to temple, while the lenses are around 2.25 x 2.0 inches at their widest points. The left lens is laser-etched with "Cebe 4000" and signed by Walter Cecchinel. The front nose bridge is embossed with the Cebe logo and "495," along with integrated air vents for enhanced performance.
