Rare Christina by Tony Iammatteo boots in good vintage condition! Women's size 7.5 US. Founded in 1962 by Italian immigrant Tony Iammatteo, the Christina Shoe Company would go on to become one of the most prominent and fashion oriented footwear manufacturers in Canada. Tony's flair and passion for design was recognized in 1970 when he won the award for international design in Torino, Italy. This pair of equestrian inspired boots is a fine example of the quality construction and fashion philosophy of Christina footwear. Featuring textured black leather uppers and shafts, stacked leather block heels, and thick leather outsoles with Vibram rubber overlay. Also featuring leather linings with felt footbeds, round toes, and buckled strap details on the upper shafts. The leather shows some scuffs; most notably on the toes and heel area, but otherwise these are in good shape, particularly for a vintage piece. I'm fairly confident in dating these to the 1970's due to the design and stamp. They're almost a hybrid between Frye equestrian/Western boots and fine Italian knee high boots.
