Ahhhh, this is one of the best pieces of vintage jewellery that I have come across! Some vintage costume jewellery isn't comfortable to wear, but this feels substantial, smooth, very high-quality. It is also so shiny! I do not have tiny vintage wrists either and this fits me so well. I might cry when this sells, but don't let that stop you!
Vendôme was the expensive, high-end jewellery line made by famed costume jewellery behemoth Coro. They manufactured jewellery from 1944 to 1979. The materials were of higher quality than other Coro jewellery and components were assembled by hand. Designs were meant to appeal to the fashion-forward consumer. They often stand out as more avant-garde than other designs of the time.
This bamboo-inspired bracelet is a good example of the organic shapes and designs that Vendome was known for. I suspect that this bracelet was a part of the "bolder than gold" line that was introduced around 1967. Pieces from that line were gold-plated silver, and I assume this is the same. The gold plating has worn away minimally on the back of the links and clasp. It is nearly intact on the front of the links.
The bracelet measures 19.7 cm in length when fastened.
