Vintage Silk Pink Floral Haori

This beautiful vintage Haori (half-kimono) is made of silk inside and out. The exterior is pink with a small white floral pattern and the interior is white with light pastel flowers overlapping like clouds. There is a red and white string on either side of the front opening that can be tied to shut the front. The sleeves feel a little shorter than usual but have a large rectangular width typical of a kimono. This piece has not been worn and still has its basting stitches in place. Unfortunately, this was previously stored in such a way that there is a light line across the back where the fabric has faded (pic 2, pic 8). This piece is not marked with a size (or gender) and I'm not very familiar with measuring kimonos or haoris. Based on how I normally size unmarked pieces, this piece would be a size XL. There is leeway with the overlapping fabric in the front, so please use these very approximate flat lay measurements: Pit to pit: 23.5" Waist: 22.75" Hips: 26" Sleeve length: 21.75" Total length: 33.5" As it was explained to me by the original seller (so take it with a grain of salt), destroying old kimonos or selling them in the country is frowned upon in Japanese culture. For this reason, many dealers are happy to sell these pieces to foreigners abroad. This haori is being sold with reverence and cultural appreciation, not appropriation.
