I remember how intimidating the gym could be when I first started working out. It seemed like everywhere I looked, someone was lifting more weight, had a cuter outfit, and made me feel small. How could I go out there and train with that kind of pressure? I finally realized that it didn’t matter. Even if I started with light weights and questionable form, I was learning. They had all started somewhere, too. I focused on myself, found friends that helped me along the way, and made progress. I was proud of my strength and what I saw in the mirror. I’m still nowhere near competition ready, but I’m stronger and more confident. Now, I encourage women to find what works for you. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, this is all about becoming a better version of yourself. It doesn’t matter what the guy next to you is doing. Do you.
