herownfrequency @amandajsherm Hi Amanda. Unfortunately those shirts do not hold up well to washing (even though I have always washed them in cold water, with no synthetic chemicals, and hung them to dry every time; I have owned several of them and resew them perpetually as they tear everywhere through the sleeves and neck, but I love them!), so that is why my offer was as low as it was (years of experience with them).

herownfrequency @amandajsherm Can you tell me if this shirt has ever been put in the dryer? I am a medium in that particular shirt (and yours is a small), so that is why I am so hesitant to accept the 50%. In that style, a small is too tight under the arms, and if it has ever gone in the dryer, I know it will not fit (it will fit my torso but not my long arms).

herownfrequency @amandajsherm With shipping and fees, it is just a lot of gamble for a give-away IF it doesn't work out. But I so vividly remember this shirt from years ago, and I never got to own that color because they had no mediums left...and I love it so much. (You have no control over any of these factors, but I am sharing them with you so that you have some context regarding my offer in this case.)

amandajsherm @herownfrequency that totally makes sense! I haven’t had that experience with this shirt because it’s only been worn once so to answer your question it’s only been dried once. How frustrating that you love these but they have that issue! Maybe hanging them dry is key! So frustrating!

amandajsherm @herownfrequency If it helps at all, it is a small but seems to be in the same condition it was in when I bought it since I only washed it once but I totally get your hesitance and your offer! herownfrequency No worries at all! I ended up finding THREE mediums in that exact same color and style for 5, 6, and 9 dollars, so I ordered one of them. If it fits as I recall and is in good condition, I will either order one more or keep looking for my other favorite J. Crew ruffle shirt that is in tatters. You would be amazed if you saw how many hand-stitched areas there are all over this shirt and how they just bust right open as soon as I put it back on, due to the fragile cotton fibers.

herownfrequency @amandajsherm (I forgot to put the "@ you" in the previous comment.) I have never ever held on to a shirt like this; I generally donate anything not in ship-shape condition. The same thing has happened to any of this style that I wear that much. The one I have left (a plum and white, micro-gingham) that is barely worn is in near perfect condition (probably like the one you have).

calistastyles Thank you for the offer on the JohnnyWas skirt. My previous price of $29 was lowered for closet clearout &I am not willing to take lower as it is priced below sold comps. I normally raise my prices again after closet clearout & sometimes relist.
