Hi! I'm Shani. I've always loved fashion. I was lucky enough to work for some of the best designers in the world (ex: Ralph Lauren, Armani). It's a family thing - I'm 3rd generation in the industry. Now a full time mom with an incredible collection of clothes and accessories. My hubby is an exec for a high end designer, so I'm always looking to make room in my closet for new treasures. @shanihenley you're so welcome! There is a FAQ page on what can & cannot be sold on Poshmark. So I recommend checking that out. I'm actually working on making a listing in my closet to help new poshers like you locate some of that info. I'll be sure to tag you once it's up!

I'm such a tiny minnow in this huge ocean of choices! It's very daunting. Do you know if there are share groups for luxury items? (I feel very lucky to meet you here. β¨πβ¨)

@shanihenley I completely understand with regarding having a niche audience. Look at my closet - lol! π I will tag on you in the share groups. I believe that many of them have a minimum # of shares before which one can join. However, you can discuss it with the admins.

@shanihenley You will notice a transition of background in my closet from an ugly brown (which actually is a nice showcase) to a lighter and brighter one. An article I read stated that users prefer merchandise whether the pics have higher saturation, contrast, and warmer tones. My main issue is with lighting. Some of the photo tools I use are Fotor, Snapseed, InShot, and Youcam. There are Poshmark groups on Facebook too. I am still trying to figure things out. π

@shanihenley I am honored to be your Posh friend. I reached out to other Poshers too (early this Jan). I have made incredible friends. You would think that these folks couldn't be bothered with a small fry like me. It is truly quaint to experience, observe, and participate in supporting one another. I guess, that's what sets Posh different from other selling tools.

I def need to learn the psychology behind color, and what inspires people to buy from one place and not another. Your use of color is clever...I didn't catch it at the time, but I still kept scrolling down your listings to see what would come next. There must be something to it...certain closets hold my interest, and I abandon others after 3-4 lines. Food for thought. π

@shanihenley Share your listings to as many parties as possible. Share them once either using your computer or cell phone. When you use the Posh app on your phone, the Edit-Next-List (ENL) feature essentially lists the item as a new addition and therefore moving it to the top of the listings. π It is important to share your Closets (you can use your computer for ease) 3-5 times a day. Sharing is an essential part of Posh. SHARE! :P

@shanihenley Higher ticket listings like yours get better exposure - more revenue for Posh. There is a wealth of information online that you can Google. @ediza's blog HealthyGirlFashion.com is my favorite. In addition to her blog, she has a YouTube channel. Her blog, FB, and YouTube discusses anything and everything Posh. She is very down-to-earth and helpful. I love Poshers who mentor and empower others to succeed.

It made my day. πApparently, it also translates into Swahili ("Marvelous"), but I'm named after a British actress named Shani Wallis, who was in the movie musical "Oliver!". My mom just loved her. π
