@littleteatime I love seeing young females getting into backcountry skiing/boarding. I am old with a hip replacement aka bionic. Been doing backcountry since I learned snowboarding in the late 1980’s. 🤣. Splitboard makes it a lot better. Be safe next winter. Cheers!

It was several years ago.
I should mention I spent lot of time outdoors and I was recently diagnosed with skin cancer.
Please use Sunscreen on face legs and arms as I had surgery with a Mohs laser and it was painful. But I am cancer free after the surgery

@marymax999518 Wow I'm so sorry to hear that Mary! I'm glad you are Free of cancer. I lost my mother to this nasty disease. I use lots of sunscreen and UV protective layers especially here in Utah. Sun can be very unhealthy over here and I spent lots of time outside.

I’m from CA and got sunburned in spite of using sunscreen but should have used it in bigger quantities.
The surgery was yesterday morning and I have lots of swelling and pain but luckily Poshmark keeps me focused. I had 8 needles to numb my face before surgery and they hurt.

You would be surprised at the market for your photos.
My son loves photography too and took classes in college.
There is a book titled “Photographers Market” which is published annually and lists Publishers and addresses and phone numbers interested in purchasing photos. The book has hundreds of listings It would be worth your time as your photos are truly awesome!
Also there are Photography Contests with amazing prizes.
Like Nike says: Just Do It!!!

You can look up Photographers Market 2021 or 2020 or even 2018. Books that are only one or two years old have current information and are less costly.
The 2018 one sells for less than $6.00 on the above website.
You could really do well with the quality and beauty of your photos!

One other thing: copyrights. When selling a creative product for commercial use, protect your hard earned creativity by a copyright or a trademark. You can learn about that on the Internet.
Copyrights and trademarks are the jurisdiction of the US Government and you can register your creative product through their website, you don’t need an attorney.
Unfortunately there are crooks and others who try to steal YOUR creativity so never send in a photo unless they request it from you in WRITING

Your photos are YOUR property and when you sell them for COMMERCIAL use, not private use, you need to make sure no one can use them without your consent. This is for your protection.
For Ex. If someone took YOUR photo and tried to sell it to say a magazine and got money for it, you could sue them. So protect yourself!

I learned this info in a writing class. There was a crook in one of my classes and he was so brazen as to talk about his stealing other people’s ideas. I don’t like people like him!

My nephew and family are coming to the states 6/17 to 7/11. I won’t get to see them. They’ll be at summer cottage in Michigan and I’m recovering from broken kneecap. I belong to several book websites and I receive emails every day from them.
I have several signed books and I’ve met a few authors. I met the former Gov of Texas wife, Mrs Nellie Connolly who was riding in the limousine when JFK was shot and killed. She wrote a book about it. I almost cried when I met her because she gave a speech about it. I purchased several copies of her book.

Yes! Her speech was invitation only at the Presidential Library in CA. She lived in Austin Tx
Her story doesn’t have the same conclusions as the Warren Commission that investigated the assignation The Commission said Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone but Nellie said two men and two guns, both killed JFK!
I talked to her after her speech. She was very kind and inquired about my family. I bought several books for family members and Nellie Connolly autographed them.

Hi Beata,
This is an excellent source or reference book. It is dated or published in 2018. I tried to find a 2022 edition but no luck; the information in this book is fairly current so it should help It gives you the business contacts by name and address so it saves a lot of time! They also make an artists book, only online now. BUT the online source is by subscription only.

Yes! The Statue of Liberty is amazing! It was shipped to the US from France in 56 separate pieces and then reassembled in NY.
When I first saw the Statue in NY it took my breath away and I thought of all the people coming to this country because it represented freedom and a better life.

@littleteatime, I am encouraging my nephew to continue his dream of someday building his own home& help him obtain the most barest essentials and parts to maintain his equipment, computer & tools for past 14 yrs! He survived living in the mountains with his 78 yr old Dad & faithful dog,learning and using incredible survivalist techniques that he has mastered how to survive by his own love of living in the wilderness! he is autistic but beyond brilliant!

He has been mentored by retired tradesmen in welding, electrical & mechanical systems & he can take apart his vehicle and put it back together (like my younger brother (his uncle could) all self taught and an uncanny knowledge of how things work

Thank you! Luckily the second urgent care doctor prescribed the antibiotics. I have had pneumonia a few times years ago and so I have a genetic proclivity to it. I can feel when that is coming down the road.

Hi Beata,
We had an Earthquake last night about 7:30. Very scary as the epicenter just a few miles away. A very loud rumbling came first then a violent shaking like a train was coming through the front door!
The news said it was a 3.5 out of 10 on the Richter Scale but it felt much stronger.
Have to go outside soon and check the house for damage. 😳

Whoa, I didn’t know Maryland had earthquakes. Twice when I was working in a high rise building in LA we had two separate quakes. I felt the entire building swaying as it was on earthquake proof rollers! The window coverings started moving back and forth rapidly and I yelled out EARTHQUAKE!
It was scary because we were high up in the building and felt it move the entire building

Well the house is still in one piece after that bad bad shaking. It gave me quite a scare. No aftershocks so that’s good.
I’m working on my Christmas projects. 🙂. Hope no more quakes. My brother said I should move to Nevada because one day California will drop into the Pacific! 🫣

Hi Beata,
Just a quick note to you as you are so nice and a caring person.
My son just texted me from the ER in Texas. He is having surgery in the next few minutes as he has an ongoing medical condition. It is not a major surgery but it is serious enough that they are operating.
Please say a prayer for him today. He is an adult but I still worry about him.

I was going to send you a note today to tell you about the shells. I started painting them in Sea White which is made by Dixie Belle. It is also called Silk and is a mineral paint.
My granddaughter is getting a new aquarium that my son bought her so the shells will be perfect for the aquarium.
That is what I was doing when my son texted me from the ER. He is waiting to go to surgery now in Dallas but I wanted to let you know about the shells too.

Yes I worry about my two kids even though they are grown ups. I’m sure my son has a good doctor to see him through this.

I had to share this with you! I won a prize in the San Diego Ronald McDonald House Charities Raffle! I was so surprised! It’s a small prize but I’m not complaining.
McDonalds uses the money from the sale of raffle tickets to help sick children and their families.

Thank you! I donate to St Jude’s as well and I actually became a volunteer for them at the age of 12. I went door to door back when it was a lot safer and I walked into the St Jude’s volunteer center with a large stack of money. Lol!
The woman in charge couldn’t believe it and so I got to attend an event where Danny Thomas was the host!
I was the only kid there because I had raised so much money just by going door to door. 🙏

Thank you. At the time my mother didn’t know I was the youngest volunteer at the sign up center. I went door to door for several hours each day for 2 weeks and collected hundreds of dollars.
My mother came home from work and saw me counting the bills and thought I had committed robbery! Lol

I was invited to the local auditorium to meet Danny Thomas and I went with the lady in charge of the volunteers but Mr Thomas was behind schedule and could only stay about 10 or 15 minutes so he left after giving a speech.

My school had a fundraiser and I came in 4th place for the entire school! Most kids were older but I sold Christmas cards and gift cards. I was disappointed at 4th place because they gave prizes to the top 3.
3rd prize was a set of luggage and I wanted the luggage. My mother said You are just a kid. What do you need luggage for? I said I have travel plans!
True story. I sold hundreds of boxes of Christmas cards to strangers and relatives and neighbors.

I did get the set of luggage but not until I graduated high school. I bought some nice new matching pieces with my graduation money and I DID travel. First to San Francisco and then after a week there to Honolulu. 😀

They gave the expected delivery date as Monday, July 29th.
I had boxed it yesterday in the afternoon. If you are going on a hiking trip maybe a neighbor could watch for the package as I know porch pirates are a problem these days.

My granddaughter lives in TX and the USPS was late with one of her birthday gifts. She turned 16 years old. She sings in the school choir. She loves art so I sent her some artsy things for her birthday recently.

We just had an Earthquake here in So CA. It was a 4.4 on the Richter Scale centered near Highland Park which is near LA.
It shook my place pretty good and I just sat and watched the walls moving. I couldn’t move out of my chair if I had wanted to. Lol

Earthquakes definitely get your attention. I heard a small rumble like a growl and then the house started shaking! I just froze in place! But the ground was definitely moving!
Wow in Maryland? That’s a surprise. I read that Japan gets the most earthquakes on the Earth! Yikes

Oh my. 5.8 is a shaker for certain. That was some welcome to the USA! An earthquake!
Earthquakes can happen in the ocean too and generate a tsunami wave. Tsunami waves have hit the Big Island of Hawaii where the City of Hilo is. Thank Hod no recent ones but one was there in 1959.

Morning Beats,
You won’t believe it! We just had another earthquake near Lake Elsinore. There was a large fire there just last week.
Our quake today was a 3.9 and it was a sharp jolt which lasted maybe 30 seconds.
It’s our 3rd Quake in August!!!

It is very hot again so wish it would cool down.
I finished my art project of a needlepoint yellow rose. It was difficult to do but I managed to get it done.
Now I have to get it matted with acid free matting and then framed. 😀
