Whale Oak Fruit Bowl or Trivet Vintage

Wooden Whale transforms from a flat trivet to a fruit bowl. This is a really cool sculptural piece made from oak. There is a little foot at the bottom that swings out to hold the bowl upright. The middle of the whale has been cut in one piece so that articulates to make the bowl and is attached at each side with small screws. When flat it could be easily stored, or used as a trivet. It does have a bit of wear due to age but has been cleaned up and oiled with food-safe butcher block oil to look its best. Would make a unique and practical gift for someone who loves whales!
