What is nylon?

Nyon was invented by 🇨🇦 DuPont in 1935: It’s a type of plastic derived from coal and petroleum. Originally called “synthetic silk”, nylon is strong, elastic and wrinkle-resistant. But no form of nylon is biodegradable; so once you no longer have a need for your torn stockings, ripped top or old toothbrush, it sits in a landfill for hundreds of years.
